Its been a while...

I know I haven't updated for a little while, despite promising myself that I would do a better job. I have a really good reason. I am currently catching up on all the homework that I spent weeks procrastinating! I mean really do teachers really expect homework to pass high standards after spring break? I also have been spending lots and lots of time in my "happy place". You know the one with white padded walls and people who give you food and drugs. *Sigh* Some people have all the luck... So now you know where I have been I thought I would give you a little update on our lives of late.

Lily or Princess Lily as she is so affectionately nick named has discovered that she is a girl and that she likes it. She had found a new appreciation for shoes and loves to try them on and admire her feet in them--these are not adult shoes, I mean her limited collection of her own shoes. She squealed when I bought her a new pink pair.

We took her shopping recently and she pointed at the skirts and would not let go of the skirt she picked out. And when we dress her in a skirt or dress and say "pretty girl" she twirls in a circle with her arms out. Its almost if she is saying, "Yes, yes I really am." She likes to brush her hair and then when you say "pretty girl" she pats her hair in place. I told Jason that we need to start calling her "smart girl" instead.

Ethan has actually gotten two soccer practices in despite the weather. He had practice tonight in this freezing cold weather. He is getting the hang of it, but its Ethan. He really lacks a competitive edge. He'll play for the love of the game. Which is awesome for him, probably not so good for his teammates!

Tonight Ethan says "Mama, there is this girl in the second grade and she looks good."
Me: "Huh? What do you mean she looks good, like healthy?" *roll your eyes here I know*
Ethan: *Giggles* "She looks good."
Me: (Obviously stupid and still trying to figure this out) "Who told you that?"
Ethan: "Its just something I thought of on my own."
Me: *Eyes widening, light bulb went on expression* "Ethan, do you mean she is pretty????!"
Ethan: "I don't want to talk about it anymore."
Me: *As if* "Ethan do you think she looks pretty?"
Ethan: "Yeah she looks really good."

Isn't he way too young to be noticing girls! I wonder what his *wife* would think of this? (He is married to some girl at school now). But I mean I don't think he ever really noticed pretty before! And to be all studly about it and say "she looks good". *Sigh* My little boy is growing up...I need to teach him about smart girls too...

Matt has not been so fortunate in the weather for his soccer practices. His last two have been canceled. He has one rescheduled for Thursday so cross your fingers for good weather. I would like to see him at least have one practice before his game Saturday. Plus I really can't bear to give him the bad news that his practice has been canceled once again. He really pulls out the most devastate look...

The other day Matt was in the bathroom at school washing his hands and another girl was in there and he turns to her and asks:
"Who are you going to marry?"
She looks at him like he was hit with a stupid stick and says, "I am not marrying anyone!"

Hah take that! Shot down at four! I don't think he knew what to do, but I had to stop that conversation in its tracks before parents stop inviting Matt to their birthday parties!

What is with my kids and the girls! They better get used to being slapped a few time and see the end of a couple of dads shotguns and Ethan really better get faster at running. Matt might be okay, he can run pretty fast.

*I tried to post pics but it doesn't seem to be working. I'll work on it!*
